ABOUT
CV
Primarily, I work with drawing, painting, and more recently installation to directly respond to the space I inhabit.
I work in a way that aims to encapsulate or document a period of time and reflect an experience rather than a direct narrative. A picture records certain material details
of a moment but doesn’t give a real physical sense of experience. The work I make is largely responsive and unplanned, fluid and generated in the moment. There is a
level of uncertainty when starting, a huge element of chance and decisions are made as the work progresses. I’ll draw from life incorporating movement to give a sense
of immediacy and suggestion of form. I will capture accumulating lines and the beginning (or inbetween moments) of images forming. Specifically, I want to explore the
limits of line, the material it interacts with and the physical nature of space. The drawn line and the many different ways it can be used in a descriptive capacity and how
it can be used to document a period of time in the expanded field.
